Fresno Bed Bug Removal
“Bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) are small, flat, parasitic insects that feed solely on the blood of people and animals while they sleep. Bed bugs are reddish-brown in color, wingless, range from 1mm to 7mm, and can live several months without a blood meal.” – Center For Disease Control
Bed Bug Infestations
Because bed bugs don’t make nests, they can quickly and easily spread. They are generally found in mattresses, headboards, box springs, and other parts of a bed. Setting up camp in these locations provides them with a reliable food source – the unsuspecting person who sleeps there. When it comes to bed bug infestations, acting quickly is extremely important to prevent more eggs being lain.
Identifying A Bed Bug Infestation
One obvious identifier of a bed bug problem is the appearance of bed bug bites on the skin. Bed bugs tend to work methodically in straight or slightly zig zagged lines, leaving itchy red bumps in their wake. You may even notice small dots of blood on your sheets. Another sign of a bed bug infestation is the molted skins of bed bugs in your bed linens, along your baseboards, in mattress seams and more. The molted skins are translucent and same oval shape as bed bugs.
